Remembering Albert E. Hinds
Four new steel gates commemorating the life and words of Princeton’s beloved Albert Hinds were installed last Wednesday in the plaza named for him next to the library on Witherspoon Street. Mr. Hinds died in 2006 at the age of 104. A favorite saying of his, “It’s always the right time to do the right thing,” features prominently in the cut-out design of the artwork. The gates are the work of Montclair artist Tom Nussbaum and were paid for by a group of local philanthropists as a tribute to Mr. Hinds. A public dedication ceremony will take place in the fall.
