To the Editor:

As avid cyclists, we have high praise and full support for John Frederick’s letter in the July 16 Town Topics’s Mailbox pointing out that many cyclists don’t know or don’t obey the laws and rules regarding cycling, which are described by Mr. Frederick. Cyclists most certainly have responsibilities, just as drivers do, and it’s important for everyone’s safety that both drivers and cyclists obey the laws and rules.

We’re especially disturbed by the number of cyclists we see riding on the wrong side of the road — a very dangerous practice. Somehow we need to educate our local cyclists so that everyone will be safer.
