Mayor, Council, Human Services Commission Praised for Making Wage Ordinance a Reality

To the Editor:

“A day’s work for a day’s pay” — this is a basic American idea. We all believe it and now it is law in Princeton. I am very proud that our town has a new wage theft ordinance that provides a way for undocumented workers to appeal when their wages are not paid. Many of us see people working for landscapers throughout our town. They are working hard and our properties benefit from their work. They deserve their promised wages and our government should protect that right. Princeton’s mayor, Council, and Human Services Commission deserve praise for making this a reality in Princeton. We are now the second town in New Jersey to put this protection in place. I certainly hope other cities copy this effort.
