Question of the Week: “Which beach at the Jersey Shore is your favorite and what do you like about it?”

TT Max Wright copy

“I like the easy drive down either Route 33 or I-195 to Belmar or Spring Lake. I like the relaxed atmosphere down at those Jersey beaches. I always try to stop by the Parker House (in Sea Girt) or Kaya’s Kitchen (in Belmar) for a quick bite to eat before heading home.” —Max Wright, Princeton

TT Dana Dickerson
“I go down to Point Pleasant inlet every weekend, weather permitting. It’s a very friendly atmosphere, the water is very clear, and the amenities are absolutely spotless.”—Dana Dickerson, Cranbury

“We go every once in a while to Spring Lake. It’s not too busy and it’s not too far from Point Pleasant, where we like to go for a seafood dinner.” —Yves and Dara Meyer, Princeton
TT Grace Latz (L) & Jules Zane (R)
Jules: “Yeah, we do go down to the Shore quite often, and it’s usually because of my hobby, which is riding rollercoasters. I’ve travelled the world to ride as many different roller coasters as I can. I’ve actually ridden over 400 in my lifetime. But I’m also from Europe and there are not many more experiences that are more American than going for a walk on a boardwalk. I loved the Seaside Heights boardwalk and was very sad, like many others, to learn about the destruction that happened during Sandy. I’d been on the Jet Star Roller Coaster for the first time just a couple of months before it crashed into the ocean. It’s wonderful to see all of the rebuilding efforts that have taken place along the Shore since the terrible storm happened.”Grace: “I just like going down to the Shore together whenever he needs to try out a new ride. But I spend a little bit more time on the beach and in the water than I do on the roller coasters. We feel so lucky to have so many wonderful places to visit in New Jersey. It’s truly a diverse place.”
