Sold-Out One Voice Event Celebrates 25 Years of Trenton Children’s Chorus
To the Editor:
As this year’s co-chairs of the fourth annual benefit for Trenton Children’s Chorus (TCC), One Voice, we want to thank the community for coming out and helping us hit a high note in our short history. A tent replete with glittering décor, a silent auction, signature cocktails, delectable hors d’oeuvres by Max Hansen Caterers, a moving performance by the Trenton Children’s Chorus, and the cool jazz of Tony and Scott Tixier made for a perfect evening at the Pretty Brook Tennis Club on September 26. We’re thrilled to announce that the event raised over $73,000 for TCC!
The sold-out event also celebrated the kick-off of TCC’s 25th anniversary year. For our silver anniversary, it was fulfilling that not only our veteran supporters turned out in huge numbers, but also that a new flock of guests were able to hear and be inspired by the voices and the mission of TCC. TCC’s role in the Trenton community couldn’t be more important than it is today. In an urban area where the high school drop out rate is greater than 50 percent, 100 percent of TCC’s graduates attend college.
We would like to thank the BrookTangle Foundation, Colgate-Palmolive Company, Church & Dwight, and the many individual donors who made the benefit a huge success. We’d also like to send a special thanks to our stellar benefit committee.
Under the leadership of Executive Artistic Director Patricia Thel, TCC provides exceptional musical, academic, personal, and social opportunities — choral rehearsal, drumming instruction, music theory, enrichment — for young people after school. Thanks to all of you who supported the event, we feel confident in a harmonious future for Trenton Children’s Chorus.
