Local Chapter of Represent.Us Thanks Mayor, Others Who Attended Event

To the Editor:

Our local chapter of Represent.Us wants to thank Mayor Liz Lempert and the 125 citizens who attended our event, “Pricele$$ and the Fight for Campaign Finance Reform,” at the Princeton Public Library on October 30. Their participation made this evening an outstanding success.

We saw an entertaining and informative film about the effects of deep pocketed campaign contributions on our electoral process and national policies. We also heard from candidates in the 12th Congressional District for this year’s election. They presented their positions on campaign finance reform and answered challenging questions from the audience.

Everyone heard this quote: “Democracy is not a spectator sport.” All those who wish to discard their spectator glasses and become active in our grassroots campaign to stop corruption in politics are welcome to join our grassroots, non-partisan campaign. Our next meeting will provide you with some of the tools to take action. For more information, contact: scolby42@verizon.net.
