Revamping Like NYC’s Traffic Initiative Needed for Nassau Street Intersections
To the Editor:
I hope everyone read about [New York City] Mayor de Blasio’s traffic initiative in changing the timing of stop-lights at fifty (50) dangerous intersections in New York City. He took this action to create safe pedestrian crossings with fewer deaths. The new system allows time for crossing in any direction WITH NO CARS MOVING. Perhaps you will remember my suggestion in these pages a few weeks ago [“Solution for Confusion, Frustration, Danger of Traffic on Nassau Street,” Mailbox, Nov. 12, 2014] for precisely this kind of revamping for the three major intersections on Nassau Street. Looks like New York beat Princeton at this game.
