Westrick Music Academy Enrolling for Choirs, Classes

CLASSES AND CHOIRS: Westrick Music Academy, home of Princeton Girlchoir and Princeton Boychoir, is signing up young vocalists for Poco Voce Choir and fall voice lessons.

Westrick Music Academy (WMA), home of Princeton Girlchoir (PGC) and Princeton Boychoir (PBC), is currently enrolling youth in grades one and two for their Poco Voce Choir, which will explore new ways to build and strengthen young musicianship skills.

This non-auditioned music class explores the young singer’s voice. During each session, children will focus on tone development and fundamental musical skills through fun and engaging games and activities. The Poco Voce Choir is an opportunity for young musicians to develop their singing voices and musicianship skills. Poco Voce Choir will be every Wednesday through December 1.

Young musicians also have the opportunity to take individual voice lessons from WMA’s teachers in an environment that facilitates learning and encourages musical growth. For musicians in grades four-12, new to singing or already experienced, individual voice lessons provide the chance to grow the young singers’ vocal and performance skills. Fall voice lessons are available through November 29.

Princeton Girlchoir and Princeton Boychoir welcome youth in grades three-12 and of various experience levels to audition for a choir. Both PGC and PBC offer a music education to the choristers who participate in all 10 of their ensembles. Each is specifically designed to be a rewarding experience, maintaining high standards of excellence while developing musical and vocal skills as part of a learning experience.

Despite the many musical opportunities PGC and PBC offer during the year, the auditions remain low-key and enjoyable and no music needs to be prepared in advance. Interested singers have the option to have a live audition via zoom, or submit an audition video. To learn more about the process or to schedule an audition, visit WestrickMusic.org/auditions
