No Life-Threatening Injuries After School Bus Crash on 206
According to a Princeton Police Department report, a serious bus accident occurred Tuesday afternoon at 2:48 on State Highway 206, which resulted in the closing of the highway between Lovers Lane and Province Line Road. A 2001 BMW 328I was traveling north on 206 just south of Hutchinson Drive when it struck the left front bumper of a southbound Rick Bus Co. bus with its front end. The impact flipped the bus over onto its right side as the BMW spun around, sustaining heavy front end damage. The bus also sustained heavy damage to its left front side.
The bus driver, Veronica McKinney, 44, of Trenton, was alert and conscious upon arrival of emergency personnel. She was transported to University Medical Center at Plainsboro for medical care. Her injuries were non-life threatening.
The bus passengers, a juvenile student, 16, and a teacher’s aid, Geneva Smith, 71, were alert and conscious upon arrival of emergency personnel. They were transported to University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro by ambulance. Their injuries were also not life threatening.
The driver of the BMW, Justin Thomas, 26, of Morris Plains, walked away from the BMW, and was alert and conscious upon arrival of emergency personnel. He was transported by ambulance to Capital Health Systems at Fuld for medical care. with non-life threatening injuries.
