American Gem Society Recognizes Hamilton Jewelers’ Hank Siegel
Hank Siegel, president and CEO of Hamilton Jewelers, was among three people in the jewelry industry to be honored by the American Gem Society (AGS) on July 26. Mr. Siegel received The AGS Triple Zero® Award.
Announced at the 16th annual Circle of Distinction Dinner, the award is presented to leaders in the industry for their accomplishments and contributions to the industry and their communities. The term “Triple Zero” represents the highest grade in the AGS Diamond Grading Standards.
In 1982, Mr. Siegel was the third generation of his family to join Hamilton Jewelers. He was appointed president and CEO in 1993. He is a graduate of Emory University, where he received his BA; Boston University Graduate School of Management, where he received his MBA and completed the GIA’s Graduate Gemologist in Residence Program. In 1986, he became a Certified Gemologist Appraiser from the American Gem Society.
In 2005, Mr. Siegel served a two-year term as president of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee. In 2008 he was elected a governor of the Gemological Institute of America. He has also served on the boards of many organizations in the gem and jewelry industry and is a member of the New Jersey and Palm Beach Chapters of the Young President’s
Organization. Mr. Siegel lives in Princeton with his wife, Lisette, and has two sons, Andrew and Benjamin.
The American Gem Society is the a jewelry trade organization dedicated to consumer protection. Since 1934, the nonprofit organization has stood as a cornerstone of the fine jewelry industry, holding member jewelers to the highest of standards and business ethics.
