Gourgaud Gallery in Cranbury Town Hall, 23-A North Main Street, Cranbury will host an exhibit by members of the New York City United Federation of Retired Teachers Art Group June 2 through June 28. The works include paintings in variety of styles and sizes.

An artist reception will be held on Sunday, June 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Gallery. The exhibiting artists will be present, and light refreshments will be served.

Many of the members exhibiting are in a painting class run by the United Federation of Teachers as part of the SI Beagle Program, which is designed to be a part of continuing learning by the NYC Teachers Union. Chapters are in the five boroughs of NYC and outreach programs in various states and countries throughout the world. This exhibit is from the Manalapan branch of the program. Linda Gilbert, a member of the Cranbury Arts Council, was the instructor, and started the program in 2010. The current instructor is Deborah Rosen, who took over this March.

As part of a nonprofit Cranbury Arts Council, the Gourgaud Gallery donates 20 percent of art sales to the Cranbury Arts Council and its programs that support arts in the community. Checks or cash are accepted as payment.
