Artsbridge Artists Series Presents Dot Bunn
“SNOW ON HAWK MOUNTAIN”: Bucks County artist Dot Bunn will speak on “Color Then and Now” on October 17 at 7 p.m. at Prallsville Mills in Stockton. She will also demonstrate the Fletcher System of color management, which she teaches at her studio. The event is part of the Artsbridge Distinguished Artists Series.
The Artsbridge Distinguished Artists Series presents Award-winning Bucks County artist Dot Bunn on Thursday, October 17, 7 p.m. at Prallsville Mills in Stockton. Her talk, “Color Then and Now,” will take attendees at on a tour through art history and the evolution of color. She will also demonstrate the Fletcher System of color management, which she teaches at her Red Stone Farm Studio. While she will demonstrate with oil paints, the system can be used in all color mediums. “It is a teaching system to help artists that are looking to consistently achieve harmony and control in color mixing,” says Bunn.
A full-time professional oil painter working from her studio, she has a strong commitment to working with and teaching traditional methods of painting, believing that spontaneity and intuition are only useful when paired with a strong background in drawing and value control. She is committed to merging the knowledge of those who have gone before her while embracing the latest tools of technology.
Bunn has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the region and exhibits nationally with Oil Painters of America, Allied Artists of America, Hudson Valley Art Association, Professional Artists of America, and the Salmagundi Club and The Butler Institute. Bunn’s work has garnered numerous awards including the Alden Bryan Memorial Medal for Traditional Landscape and two Patron Awards for Painting from Phillips’ Mill. She recently completed a 500-square-foot wall mural in the Banquet Room at the Historic Strawberry Mansion in Philadelphia.
