In a unanimous move that effectively ratified more than three years of planning, a state panel last Thursday agreed with the findings of a strategic plan put forth by the Princeton HealthCare System, and granted an approval that will result in the relocation of PHCS' University Medical Center at Princeton and Merwick Care Center to Plainsboro Township.
Princeton Borough and Township held their annual reorganization sessions last Thursday evening, and while no major initiatives were unveiled, several major projects in both towns could see completion, or get underway.
Princeton Township Committee, convening for a special midday session Monday, announced its unanimous opposition to a bill up for a vote in both the state Senate and Assembly calling for an end to so-called home rule and urging consolidation of municipal services, or even government, where applicable, in a sweeping effort to reduce rising property taxes.
