Wood will be the keynote speaker. Breakout sessions will focus on incorporating new ideas into traditional preservation methods to keep preservation relevant in the 21st century. The Mercer County Park Commission needs volunteers to help maintain Roebling Park trails. Located close to downtown Trenton, Roebling Park is a 257-acre nature preserve that is home to a tidal freshwater marsh and a spring-fed lake. Volunteer crews will meet on Fridays, June 26; July 10 and 24; and August 7 and 21, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Interested individuals or groups can sign up for as many or few days as they would like. The Mercer County Library System has been awarded a grant from the Central Jersey Regional Library Cooperative (CJRLC) to participate in a pilot program that offers online computer classes and tutorials on library services. Initial class offerings will include instruction in using Microsoft Office 2007 products such as Excel and Word, navigating the library catalog, and accessing library databases. Participants will be able to make suggestions on future class offerings. Class times and instructions on how to join will be posted on the librarys website at www.mcl.org, and in the computer class calendar available at each branch. The first class is tentatively set for July 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
