Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes and the Mercer County Park Commission have announced that the Delaware River boating docks behind Waterfront Park baseball stadium in Trenton and the Marina at Mercer County Park are now open. A new online driving course is now available to all New Jersey drivers. The successful completion of the course will take 2 points off your drivers license and provide a mandatory 3-year discount on your auto insurance. The course fee is $49. Drivers can sign up now at www.driversgoonline.com.

U.S. Military veterans residing in Mercer County may now obtain a county photo identification card that also designates their status as a veteran. To receive the ID card, veterans must be a Mercer County resident for at least 6 months and must provide a valid birth certificate with a raised seal or a naturalization certificate, a valid N.J. Motor Vehicle License, or voter registration card or, lease agreement. They must also produce or register their DD-214 discharge papers with the County Clerk’s Office. From Memorial Day through July 4, the ID cards are available free to U.S. Veterans. After July 4, veterans will pay a special reduced fee of $10, half the normal price for an ID card. Filing their DD-214 form is free of charge to all honorably discharged Mercer County Veterans, who can receive their photo ID card by visiting the Mercer County Clerk’s Office located in the Old Courthouse at 209 South Broad Street in Trenton. The Clerk’s Office is open from Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesdays until 6:30 p.m. For further information call (609) 989-6473.

On June 1, NJ Transit will launch “Rider’s Platform,” a pilot program enabling customers to post and share comments on ways to improve service. “In addition to the website comment area where riders currently give us feedback on their daily experience, we hope this will inspire customers to share their ideas for new and improved services at stations and terminals, as well as on bus, light rail, and rail lines,” said NJ Transit Executive Director Richard Sarles.
