Christine Casaceli proved to be a solid contributor in her first two seasons with the Princeton University women’s lacrosse team.

As a freshman in 2006, Casaceli scored 11 points on nine goals and two assists. Last year, she showed gradual improvement, notching 23 points with 14 goals and nine assists.

This spring, however, Casaceli has taken her game to a new level, emerging as one of Princeton’s go-to offensive players by scoring 17 goals in the Tigers’ first eight games.

Princeton Women’s Open Crew Starts 4-0 but Has Plenty of Room for Improvement

Two weekends ago, the Princeton University women’s open crew varsity boat opened its spring season by topping No. 3 Brown and Michigan State on Lake Carnegie.

Last Saturday, Princeton’s top boat built on its opening day heroics by cruising to a win over Columbia and Rutgers.

With the Princeton High boys’ tennis team featuring five seniors in its seven-player lineup, PHS head coach Sarah Heyman is hoping that her veterans can keep their focus when they are on the court.

PHS Baseball Off to Rocky Start, Needs to Sharpen Up Execution

The temperature was dipping into the mid-40s and the Princeton High baseball team was trailing visiting Hightstown by six runs heading into the bottom of the seventh inning last Thursday.

It would have been understandable if the PHS players had gone through the motions in their last at-bat with an eye to getting home and out of the cold.

But the Little Tigers didn’t go out with a whimper. Senior star Chris Brooks led off with a single and ended up scoring when Hightstown misplayed a smash off the bat of Eric Hoffman. A double play, however, killed the rally as PHS fell 12-7 to the Rams.

Sparked by Hard-working Bucklee, Stuart Lacrosse Produces 2-1 Start

Even though Elizabeth Bucklee scored seven goals to lead the Stuart Country Day lacrosse team to a win over the George School (Pa.) last Friday, she wasn’t all that pleased with her performance.

“I personally think I have to bring up my intensity on my redefending, that’s one of my goals for the season,” said the junior star in reflecting on her effort in Stuart’s 20-10 win over the Cougars.
