The Community Park Pool will celebrate this season’s “Final Friday” with a September 2 celebration from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission for non-members will be $1. Menu options will be available at the concession stand for $1, and Larry Ivans (“May I have your attention please. . .”) will make the final announcement of the season.
On Tuesday, September 6, construction of the new pool complex is scheduled to begin. Due to a reduction in parking space available for Municipal and Police purposes, the Witherspoon Street Municipal parking lot will be restricted for municipal business only. In accordance with Princeton Township Municipal Code Section 11-23.8, unauthorized vehicles will be ticketed.
The Evergreen Forum, a program of daytime study and discussions for adults under the Princeton Senior Resource Center, has openings in several of its classes. There is still time to register for “Jane Austen,” “History of China,” “Irish Plays,” and a poetry course on “Tribute, Ode and Elegy.” To register, or for more information, go to www.theEvergreenForum.org or call (609) 924-7108. Courses cost $60 and meet for two hours a week, for eight weeks. Most classes are held in the Suzanne Patterson Building behind Princeton Borough Hall. The first class starts September 23.
Sustainable Princeton will co-host its second Eco-Hour on Tuesday September 6th at 6:30 p.m. with Olsson’s Fine Foods in Palmer Square. Sustainable Princeton, a program of the Regional Planning Board of Princeton, is focused on the environmental, social and economic welfare of the community. Eco-hours offer residents an opportunity to meet the owners of Princeton’s locally owned businesses. The events are free and open to the public.
The Mercer County Republican Committee has announced that the August 29 fundraiser for Mercer County Executive candidate Jonathan Savage has been rescheduled for Wednesday, September 29.
