A memorial service will be held for Marianna R. Calcote on Tuesday, December 8 at 1 p.m. in the Meeting Room at Meadow Lakes, 300 Etra Road, (Route 571) Hightstown. Mrs. Calcote died November 5.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to US Marines Toys for Tots Foundation, Marine Corps Base, P.O. Box 227, Quantico, Va. 22134-0227; or to HomeFront, 1880 Princeton Avenue, Lawrenceville 08648.

Jean E. Bianco of Rocky Hill died peacefully November 25 after a long battle with cancer, with her family at her side.
Born in Princeton, she lived her whole life in Rocky Hill.
She was a graduate of Princeton High School. She worked with First National Bank of Princeton as an administrative secretary/bookkeeper, then with Princeton Bank & Trust on Nassau Street. She retired in 1980 after a career of 30 years.
A student of piano, she was a lover of music and an accomplished pianist. A thoughtful woman, she was a devoted grandmother and a friend to many.
Daughter of the late John and Rose Panicaro, she is survived by her husband, Charles A. Bianco; a daughter, Karen Torpey of Colts Neck; a son, Charles A. Bianco II of Ringoes; a brother, John Panicaro of Flemington; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral was November 30 at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul’s Church. Burial was in Rocky Hill Cemetery.

Janet T. Coursen of Princeton died November 27 in the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born and raised in New York City, she had resided in Princeton since 1953. She attended Mt. St. Vincent College in Riverdale, N.Y.
Mrs. Coursen was a member of St. Paul’s Church of Princeton.
The wife of the late William Coursen, she is survived by three sons, William, Thomas, and John; a brother, Thomas Quinn; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of a Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. tomorrow, December 3 at St. Paul’s Church, 214 Nassau Street. Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home.
Rosalind Burnett Harris, 50, of Bluffton, South Carolina, formerly of Princeton, died peacefully November 27 at home, following a long illness.
She attended public schools in Hamilton Township, graduating from Hamilton High West. She majored in journalism at Pennsylvania State University, where she met and married her husband, Harland Harris of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Harris worked in the field of retail sales and fine cosmetics until stricken by her illness.
She lived the final four years of her life with Stephen Deutch, with whom she shared a loving, peaceful life.
Predeceased by her father, Zaron W. Burnett Sr., Mrs. Harris is survived by her mother, Johnsie Broadway Burnett of Columbia, Md.; a son, Jarreau R. Harris of Tallahassee, Fla.; four brothers, Errol S. Burnett and Zaron W. Burnett Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Irving S. Burnett of Trenton, and Douglas W. Burnett Sr. of Columbia, Md.; a special aunt with whom she was very close, Frances B. Craig of Princeton; and many relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be at noon this Friday, December 4 at Mt. Pisgah AME Church, 170 Witherspoon Street. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be in Princeton Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
Joseph Nichols, 92, of Princeton, died November 27 at the King James Care Center in Chatham, N.J. He had been recovering from a stroke and other ailments.
A scientist, Dr. Nichols won distinction for his work in the research and development of collagen, for which he received the 1964 Johnson Medal, awarded by the Johnson & Johnson Executive Committee.
Born in New York City, Dr. Nichols received his B.S. from the College of the City of New York and his M.S. and Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Minnesota. He held a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship and in 1942-43 performed war related scientific research for the National Defense Research Council. After the war, he did postgraduate research at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland.
After his tenure at Johnson & Johnson, where he was Director of Research at the Ethicon division, he founded and headed Princeton Biomedix Incorporated. It was the first of three companies engaged in the research and development of medical products that he founded, the others being Helitrex, Inc. and Prodex, Inc.
Dr. Nichols and his wife, Sylvia, settled in Princeton in the early 1950s. She was a concert pianist and he retained a lifelong love of classical music, including some study of the cello.
Predeceased by Mrs. Nichols in 1995, Dr. Nichols is survived by his two sons and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held December 1 at the Kimble Funeral Home. Burial followed at Princeton Cemetery.

Robert A. Rhodes, 88, of Princeton, died November 25 in the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, he had been a resident of Princeton since 1973.
He served in the Army during World War II and after the war served as a language officer in the 8th Army Headquarters in Tokyo. He retired as a reservist from the Army as a full Colonel.
After retiring from the Army he worked for Chase Manhattan Bank New York and later with Yasuda Trust and Banking as a vice president.
He was predeceased in 2003 by Toyo J. Rhodes, to whom he was married for 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Christine A. Rhodes of Princeton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Grace Rhodes and Gloria and Glenn Iba, all of Long Beach, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Eriko Rhodes of Kyoto, Japan; a brother, Erroll Rhodes of Greenwich, Conn.; and four grandchildren.
The funeral service will be this Saturday, December 5 at 2 p.m. at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Burial and military honors will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Park in North Hanover.
