The Coalition for Peace Action will respond to President Obama’s announced escalation of troops in Afghanistan with a rally and candlelight vigil on Wednesday, December 2, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Palmer Square in Princeton. Yes We CAN!, the volunteer group that seeks to alleviate hunger, will hold two food drives on Saturday, December 5, one at McCaffrey’s in Princeton from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the other, at the Montgomery ShopRite on Route 206, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

U.S. Representative Rush Holt (D-12) will host a telephone town hall meeting with Central New Jersey residents on Tuesday, December 8 at 7:30 p.m. The one-hour meeting will provide participants with an opportunity to ask questions and share views on the challenges facing New Jersey and the country, including the economy, health care reform, energy, retirement security, and anything else that may be on their minds. To participate, constituents can complete an opt-in form on the front page of Holt.House.Gov.

The Republican Association of Princeton (RAP) will hold its annual Holiday Party on Sunday, December 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of Carol Wojciechowicz in Princeton Township. The event will provide the opportunity to thank Princeton area volunteers who helped with Governor-elect Chris Christie’s campaign.
