 INVITATION TO THE BALL: Dust off your fans and manners for the highlight of Patriot’s Week — a Colonial Ball that offers a step back to the 18th-century with period music and callers. Members of the general public as well as reenactors in formal period garb (encouraged but not required) will mingle at this lantern-lit dance on Friday, December 29, from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Masonic Temple, Front and Barrack Streets. For those in need of dance instruction, the Germantown Country Dancers will demonstrate the steps before the start of the ball. Patriots’ Week, the celebration of Trenton’s role in the American Revolution held annually the week between Christmas and New Year’s, will bring visitors to the city to enjoy art, music, literature, battlefield re-enactments, and living history events.
Complying with a 2004 mandate handed down from the state’s Department of Environmental Protection, Princeton Borough Council last week voted to adopt a code viewed by environmentalists as the most sweeping effort in 20 years to protect water quality and preserve drinking water supplies.
