It’s New to Us by Jean Stratton

LOOKING GOOD: “Our lash extensions are medically safe and stay on a long time. We also offer make-up applications and lessons, and have the finest high quality products.” Amber Spa esthetician Jena Zegarski specializes in eyelash extension and make-up. A full array of body and skin care services is also offered.

Facials, Massages, and Other Treatments Are Available at Amber Spa in Pennington

Amber Spa, located at 16 South Main Street in Pennington, prides itself on keeping up-to-date with the latest techniques and products in order to offer clients the best service possible.

“We always have important new treatments and products,” says co-owner Gabriela Czach. “We now offer Intraceuticals, a special oxygen-rejuvenating product for facials. It is exclusive to us in the area. Obagi is a special medical line, and also important is the Dr. Hauschka line of organic products for facials and skin care. Spray tanning is another service, and we customize it to the client’s skin type.”

Since Ms. Czach and co-owner Beata Giermasinska opened Amber Spa in 2002, skin care treatment has become more and more popular. In our rushed, high tech society, stress relief is welcome, and facials and massages are notable, not just as beneficial for the skin and muscles, but for their relaxation-enhancing qualities.

Ms. Czach is a firm believer in the value of spa therapy for body and soul. “For one thing, people are living longer, and they want to look and feel good and have more energy. The more you take care of yourself, the better you will feel, and our face and body treatments can help.”

It is important to feel comfortable in your own skin, and look your best, whatever your age, she adds, and Amber Spa offers a variety of treatments suitable for different ages for men and women. All facials start with a skin analysis in order to customize a treatment for the special needs of the individual client.

Four licensed estheticians, including Ms. Czach and Ms. Giermasinska, provide high quality service. “We have continuing training and education to keep up-to-date with the latest advances,” says Ms. Czach. “Also, all the companies whose products we use provide on-going training.”

Anti-Aging

Ideally, a once-a-month facial is recommended, but in these tight economic times, if people can come in seasonally, that is also very helpful for their skin. “Important benefits of a facial are skin rejuvenation and balance, and improved circulation,” notes Ms. Czach. “I believe clients are seeing the value of having professional skin care. Americans used to think it was a luxury; now it’s an essential.”

Interest in anti-aging treatments and products is at an all-time high, and Amber Spa has services specifically geared to rejuvenate mature skin and to treat skin damaged by sun and air pollution. “Micro-dermabrasion combined with an Intraceutical oxygen facial is a very nice rejuvenating service,” reports Ms. Czach, “and this is very popular.”

The Vitamin C facial is another favorite, and is a powerful anti-oxidant treatment, using the purest form of vitamin C and a special system to tighten the skin, stimulate collagen production, improve elasticity, and lighten hyper-pigmentation.

The Collagen Fiber facial is one of the newest anti-aging therapies, and is very effective in treating dry, mature skin. Its 100 percent natural collagen mask will lift and deeply moisturize the skin. For those with especially sensitive skin or rosacea, the Oceanic facial is an option. Marine floral products obtained from the ocean are used for their deep healing power, notes Ms. Czach. “Youth-enhancing algae will soothe and rejuvenate fragile tissues. Deep hydration reduces visible lines and firms contours.”

Younger Clients

Amber Spa can also help younger clients, including teens, who may experience blemish problems from time to time. The Teenage facial is a popular option, as is Pore Perfect, which is the ultimate deep pore cleansing treatment.

Organic products are popular these days, adds Ms. Czach, and the spa offers a variety, including the Dr. Hauschka line. “The market is changing,” she reports. “People like these natural products; they want to combat the pollution that surrounds them and their bodies.”

Massages (there are four massage therapists) and body wraps are other popular treatments at the spa, and a variety is available. Among the massages, the Hot Stone massage and Rain Drop therapy are in demand. Also popular is a Pre-natal massage, which encourages relaxation and reduces stresses on the body during pregnancy. A variety of other massages includes deep tissue, reflexology, and the spa signature massage, among others.

Body wraps offer opportunities for body detoxification, immune system stimulation, and body peels. Oceanic Detox, Alpha Beta Peel, and Hot Stone Aromatherapy Body Polish are among the popular choices.

In addition, a series of spa packages and specials provide customers with a sampling of several different services ranging from one hour to several hours; some include lunch. Such favorites as “Body & Soul”, “Golden Fingers”, “Two Hours of Bliss”, “Mother to Be”, and “Winter Escape” are great gifts.

Valentine’s Day specials are also coming up, including the “Champagne & Chocolate Pedicure”, a $40 special which features the Amber Spa pedicure with champagne and chocolate-scented cupcake bath salts. The offer expires March 15.

Signature Massage

The $90 (regularly $125) Valentine Package offers one hour of relaxing Swedish massage and spa pedicure. It also includes complimentary aromatherapy candles while supplies last. This offer also expires March 15. The Spa facial and Express Manicure & Pedicure is a $100 special (normally $138), and also expires March 15.

Designed to ease nervous tension, counteract physical fatigue, and improve circulation, the spa’s Signature Massage is offered for $59 (normally $80), and includes a full body massage combining Swedish and Shiatsu techniques.

In addition, on Thursday, February 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Amber Spa will offer a complimentary introduction to the Intraceutical O2 Infusion, which nourishes and hydrates the skin, and stimulates cell renewal and rejuvenation. Intraceutical representatives will perform the treatments and answer questions. Call for an appointment.

The attractive spa offers a very relaxing atmosphere for clients. The waiting area features a handsome aquarium with colorful tropical fish, and soft, soothing music. Dimly lit, it sets the tone for the pleasant experience ahead. All cell phones must be turned off upon entering the spa.

Customers, who come from all over the area, are all ages, from 12 to 90! “We have lots of regular clients, and we very much appreciate their loyalty,” says Ms. Czach. “They are very nice about telling their friends about Amber Spa. The main thing is that they come back. We must be doing something right! I think we have truly accomplished something. It’s wonderful to help people look better, and feel better.”

Amber Spa is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. and Thursday and Friday until 8 p.m. (609) 737-8400. Website: www.amberspa.com.
