Question of the Week: "What are your views on reporters going to jail for withholding their sources?"
"I think that it is terrible for freedom of speech that people won't want to express their opinions if confidentiality is not protected. On the other hand, some people will be able to use this. You have to draw the line where what you are reporting serves a purpose. In this instance, they used the information to smear someone to get back at them. In principle I agree that confidential sources should be held confidential as long as this is not abused by reporters."

"I think that it is horrible that they would go to jail for not having given up the names. They are under no obligation to give them up. Even if it is against the law to withhold names, I don't know how anything will change if we don't have people tell reporters things in confidence."
