Quality Home Furnishings and Accessories Are Hallmark of Lambertville’s Area Home

“Let Our Style Inspire Yours” is the motto of Area Home, the charming home furnishings store at 202 North Union Street in Lambertville.

The store’s location in the British Antiques Building is a story in itself. The structure dates to 1860, and was formerly a “spoke and wheel factory. “It provides a perfect setting for our offerings,” says Area Home owner Lori Johnson, who originally opened the store in 2002, after a career in interior design.

TREASURE TROVE: “Our tie-dyed products are very popular, especially with girls six to 12,” reports John Sherman. “However, recently, three ladies were having lunch outside the store, and kept noticing the tie-dyed bags in the window. After lunch, they came in, and each lady bought a bag!” Mr. Sherman, owner of Learning Express, is shown with a sampling of tie-dyed items, including messenger bag, lunch bag, back pack, and shoulder bag.

Opened in 1998, the store is an independently owned franchise, one of more than 100 in the U.S., explains owner John Sherman, formerly a marketing executive for Johnson & Johnson.
