Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

“Do you use photo sharing and are you concerned about privacy issues?”

“I do not post photos to social network sites like Facebook but I do post photos on my website and do not have concerns with privacy issues.”

Ed Greenblat, Princeton

“I consciously do not have a Facebook account. I would rather call or see my friends. I don’t see the point of sharing on a social network. Facebook has the ability to trace all emails and this is a privacy concern of mine.”

Vikram Rao, Princeton

“I do photo share and I do have privacy concerns. Especially when photographing minors. I only share photos of children, if I ask their parents permission. And then, I only share them with my friends and family.”

Elissa Grodd Schragger, Princeton

“I share photos often. I’m in college and looking for jobs and am concerned about privacy issues. Especially, with party photos where alcohol is involved. I choose to edit the photos or disassociate myself by ‘untagging’ myself in those photos.”

Christine Godinez, Montgomery

“I have my settings set ‘on private’ so I don’t feel any threat at all. My photos only go to the people I know.”

Caitlyn Bongiovi, Hamilton

Brian: “We do photo sharing. It’s a great way to keep in touch with friends and family but it’s something that you have to be concerned about, your network and who you are sending the photos out to.” Jessica: “It is important to have your settings set on ‘private’.”

Brian and Jessica Montgomery, Princeton
