Representatives of the Consolidation and Shared Services Study Commission will meet with residents of the Witherspoon Neighborhood on Saturday, April 2, at 9:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church. Residents will have an opportunity to discuss their hopes and concerns about the possibility of consolidation of the Borough and Township into one municipality, or increased shared services between the two towns. This is one of a series of meetings the Commission is having in neighborhoods throughout the community. A continental breakfast will be available.

Threats to privacy posed by information technologies will be examined at Princeton Public Library’s next Tuesday Technology Talk on April 5 at 7 p.m. Speaker Helen Nissenbaum, author of Privacy in Context: Technology, Policy and the Integrity of Social Life, will discuss dangers to privacy posed by digital media such as the Internet and Web, and offer advice on how best to respond.

The topic of the next CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) of Princeton-Mercer County, on Wednesday, April 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. will be “School Accommodations and the Legal System: IEP and 504 Explained.” The speaker, Staci J. Greenwald, an attorney who specializes in special education law, will discuss eligibility criteria for special education services, how parents request an evaluation, parents’ right to an independent evaluation when they disagree with the school district’s evaluation, how to determine if a child is receiving a free appropriate education, what it means to be educated in the least restrictive environment, and the interface of special education with intervention and referral services. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, its eligibility criteria and availability to school-age children will also be on the agenda. American Legion Princeton Post No. 76 is offering a four-year scholarship for a Princeton or West Windsor resident who is the child, stepchild, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a member of the Armed Forces during wartime.
