The Mercer County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is sponsoring a free half-day conference on tax credits, loans, and government incentives to businesses on Thursday, May 5, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at The Conference Center at Mercer County Community College. The intent of the conference, said Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes, is to help local businesses both large and small better navigate the variety of government assistance programs that exist to help them grow, hire new employees, obtain valuable tax credits, and apply for loans, among other programs. Representatives of area businesses are encouraged to register for the free conference by calling (609) 989-6827. For general information about business development, call Business Advocate Anthony Carabelli Jr. at (609) 989-6059. For more information on Mercer county programs, see www.mercercounty.org.
