![]() Since I have been a representative of more than 700 thousand people, I have come to know many families who have lost members to our national service. I think of a number of them. It is different when you feel a sense of responsibility for so many people. I still think of Memorial Day as Decoration Day. It is a time to express appreciation for veterans and their families, but ultimately it is a time to remember those who have died in service. Congressman Rush Holt |
![]() I think of my twin brother who died of injuries sustained during the Vietnam War and an older brother who was missing during the Korean War for six months. But I also think of all the fallen heroes who have served so that we can enjoy the freedoms that this country affords us. That is the meaning of the day. I think of my father who is a Korean War vet, my grandfather, who is still with us, who is a Word War II vet, and a very special memory goes to out my brother who is no longer with us who was a sailor.
