The Princeton Regional Schools will hold their annual Warm Winter Clothing Distribution on Saturday, November 20 from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the All-Purpose Room of Community Park Elementary School. All in need are welcome to come.

Borough resident Ingrid Reed will be honored by New Jersey Future at a special reception at the Morven Museum and Gardens on Sunday, November 21, from 4 to 6 p.m. Ms. Reed was a founding member of New Jersey Future, the Trenton-based research and advocacy organization focused on smart growth and sustainable development, and recently completed three years as chair of the nonprofit organization’s board. She also recently retired as director of the New Jersey Project at Rutgers University’s Eagleton Institute of Politics. In addition to honoring Ms. Reed’s contributions and achievements, the November 21 reception will inaugurate New Jersey Future’s Senior Fellow program, welcoming Ms. Reed as its first participant. The program offers an opportunity for experienced land use scholars, policy analysts, policy makers, and other experts to explore ideas and concepts that advance the goals of sustainable development and smarter growth in New Jersey. Princeton Township Mayor Bernie Miller recently announced that Township Chief Financial Officer Kathy Monzo has successfully completed the refinancing of $5,230,000 of bonds that were originally sold in 2004. By refinancing, the Township was able to attain a savings to the Township of $269,963 over the life of the bonds, or an average annual savings of nearly $29,000 over the nine remaining years of the bonds. Mayor Miller said that the Township’s AAA rating by Standard and Poor’s was an important factor in helping achieve these savings for Township taxpayers.

The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund at Rutgers presents “A Celebration of the Heritage of Palestine and its Legacy of Resilience” on Sunday, December 5 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Busch Campus Center at Rutgers University, 65 Davidson Road, Piscataway. A book fair to support Literacy Volunteers in Mercer County (LVMC) will be held at Barnes & Noble in Princeton on Saturday, November 27, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of every sale made with a special Bookfair voucher (ID# 10187425) to LVMC.
