Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

“What are your thoughts about consolidation of Princeton Township and Princeton Borough and do you think it will ever happen?”

“I certainly hope that consolidation will happen; it’s crazy to have two Princetons. It is one community and it should be one government.”

Tom Wright with daughters (left to right) Ruby, Eliza, and Amelia, Princeton

“It would be good to merge the Borough and Township; it costs a lot of money to have two separate governments.”

David Tortolani, Skillman

“I would like to see consolidation happen. Politics is the main problem. Demographically the governments are very similar. It makes sense and it would be more efficient to run one government.”

Paul Shu with dog Happy, Princeton

“Taxes are the main issue. I don’t think consolidation will happen.”

Michael Macchia, Princeton

“I am sure there are a lot of politics behind consolidation. But, I believe absolutely that the revenue collected from the Township should be consolidated with the Borough so many of the services could be shared.”

Dori Jones with daughter Dominique, Lawrenceville
