Margaret Grace, 83, of Foulkeways, a Quaker residential community in Gynnedd, Pa., died October 1.
She graduated from Barnard College and obtained dual master’s degrees in learning disabilities and reading. She was employed by the South Brunswick Board of Education from 1968 to 1996 as a learning consultant and classroom teacher. She also worked in private practice as a therapist.
She was a mother, friend, educator, mentor, world traveler, and student of life. Following her retirement she joined the Peace Corps and fulfilled a lifelong dream of service, traveling to Tonga in the South Pacific and serving beyond her original commitment by request of the Peace Corps.
She was active in the Society of Friends and served on the American Friends Service Committee as a representative to the Quaker United Nations Office. Upon her return from Tonga she moved to Foulkeways.
Predeceased by a son, Kevin, she is survived by a daughter, Martha, of Newark, Del.; a son, Christopher of Pennington; and two grandchildren.
A Memorial Meeting for Worship in the manner of Friends will be held at the Stonybrook Meetinghouse of Princeton Friends Meeting, 470 Quaker Road, Princeton, at 12:30 p.m. this Sunday, October 18. Following the Memorial Meeting, refreshments will be served in the First Day School Building on the Meeting grounds. The Meeting entrance is on Quaker Road just south of Mercer Street.
Glenn E. “Gene” Stone Jr., 58, of Skillman, died October 8.
Born in Steamboat Springs, Colo., he resided in Skillman, for the past four years.
He graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University in 1973.
Mr. Stone was employed by the Boy Scouts of America for 36 years and most recently served as the Northeast Regional Director. Prior to serving as a Regional Director, he was the Scout Executive for the Circle Ten Council in Dallas, Texas for four years.
He is survived by his parents, Glenn E. Stone Sr. and Dorothy Carden Stone; his wife of 39 years, Kathy Hastings Stone; a son, Jason E. Stone; a daughter, Mindy Stone Summers; a brother, Jimmy D. Stone; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 19 at 2 p.m. at Lover’s Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Gene Stone Memorial Endowment Fund, Black Hills Area Council, BSA, 144 North Street, Rapid City, S.D. 57701.
Arrangements are by the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home.
John A. “Jack” Zimmerman, 67, of Princeton and Warren, Vt., died October 7 at Burlington Hospital in Burlington, Vt.
Born in Newark, he resided in Cherry Hill before moving to Princeton in 2000. He was a graduate of Seton Hall Preparatory School and Seton Hall University. He also received his MBA from Seton Hall University.
He served as a Captain in the Air Force during the Vietnam War before embarking on a career as an EDP Auditor with Smith-Kline in Philadelphia. After retirement he started a family business with his son, John, Blue Island Pool and Spa of Long Beach Island, and Mad River Pool and Spa of Warren, Vt. He was a member of the Mad River Rotary, active with the Big Brothers organization for many years, and an avid stamp collector, skier, and photographer.
Son of the late John A. and Agnes Zimmerman Sr., he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary L. Serge Zimmerman; two sons, John of Loveladies and Eric of Philadelphia; a brother, Russell Zimmerman of Bloomfield; a sister, Gail Zimmerman Cox of Toms River; and three grandchildren.
The funeral was October 13 at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 23 South 5th Avenue, Highland Park.

A memorial service for the late Dr. Chester R. Stroup will be held this Saturday, October 17 at 2 p.m. at the Princeton United Methodist Church, at the intersection of Nassau Street and Vandeventer Avenue.
A former superintendent of Princeton Borough schools, Dr. Stroup died August 23 at Stonebridge at Montgomery.
