The non-profit organization HiTOPS is opening its doors to the community for a “meet and greet” open house on Wednesday, October 28, between 8 and 9 a.m., and between 5 and 7:30 p.m. Visitors are invited to tour the facility, talk with staff, and learn how HiTOPS promotes healthy behavior amongst teens. Light refreshments will be served. “Over the years, we have heard many things about what people think we do here, and we wanted to invite them in and actually show them,” said Executive Director Elizabeth Casparian. “The open house will give people the chance to learn about the work we do, ask us questions and give us an opportunity to talk about how and why we serve the community. Opening our doors in this way also lets our friends and donors bring new people in to see the organization without having to make an appointment — we will be here to greet people and talk with them about any of their ideas or questions. We also welcome feedback about the programs and services we offer and this is an informal way to give people that opportunity.” HiTOPS is located at 21 Wiggins Street in Princeton. Registration is now open for the Coalition for Peace Action’s 30th Annual Peace Conference on Sunday, November 15, at Princeton University. This year’s theme is “Toward a Peace Economy.” Rabbi Michael Lerner will be the preacher for the Interfaith Service at 11 a.m. at Princeton University Chapel. The conference, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at McCormick 101 (the auditorium to the left of the the Art Museum) will follow. Registration is currently $20 per person for members, $35 for non-members, and $10 for those on a limited income. After October 30, each level goes up by $5. Cherry Grove Farm will hold its annual Pasture Party on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 and 8, from noon to 4 p.m. Fees for this celebration of local food are $45 per person/per day advanced sales; $75 per person/both days advanced sales; or $60 per person/per day at the gate.
