Princeton Community Democratic Organization members and friends are invited to a reception with Caroline Kennedy benefiting the Obama Victory Fund on Friday, September 19, at 6 p.m., at the home of Lisa Fischetti and Ralph Lerner, 176 Parkside Drive, Princeton. The Host and Sponsor Reception contribution is $2,300; contributions for the General Reception are $1,000 and $500. Entertainers are needed for the the Princeton Public Library’s “Rock the Vote” event, to encourage involvement in the voting process, on Friday, September 19, at 4 p.m. Interested performers should contact Teen Services Librarian Susan Conlon by calling (609) 924-9529, ext. 247, or via e-mail atsconlon@princetonlibrary.org. This event is co-sponsored by the library, the Princeton Youth Project, and the League of Women Voters of the Princeton Area.
The Princeton Charter School Board of Trustees meeting originally scheduled for September 17 at 8 p.m., has been changed to September 12, at 8 a.m. It will be held in the Marsee Center on 100 Bunn Drive.
The Borough of Princeton Notification System reports that milling and resurfacing work has begun on Elm Road from Rosedale to Route 206. During construction this section of Elm Road will be closed to through traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays only. Detoured traffic will be directed to use eastbound Rosedale Road, turning left onto Province Line Road, and then left on Route 206 to the end of the detour. Westbound traffic will reverse this route Emergency access and access for businesses and residents will be permitted during this time.
