Mercer County homeowners, renters, and business owners whose properties were directly damaged by Nor’easter flooding or storm events on or around March 12 can apply for monetary assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to federal officials. Disaster loans up to $200,000 are available to homeowners to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate. Homeowners and renters are eligible for up to $40,000 to repair or replace damaged or destroyed personal property. Businesses and non-profit organizations of any size may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. Affected residents and business owners can begin the disaster application process by registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov or registering by phone at (800) 621-3362 (FEMA) or (800) 462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing- and speech-impaired.

Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello reminds residents that Tuesday, April 13 is the last day to apply for a Vote-by-Mail Ballot for the upcoming April 20 School Board election. To request a Vote-by-Mail application, voters can call (609) 989-6494. Vote-by-Mail applications also are available on the web at www.mercercounty.org/countyclerk in both English and Spanish. To apply in person, the Mercer County Clerk’s Office is located in the Old Courthouse at 209 South Broad Street — 2nd floor in Trenton.

Bloomberg News editor-at-large Thomas R. Keene will speak at the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce Monthly Membership Luncheon Meeting on Thursday, April 8, at the Marriott Princeton Hotel and Conference Center, 100 College Road East. The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. with a networking reception, followed by the program and adjourns at 1:30 p.m. Those interested in attending are requested to reserve in advance at www.princetonchamber.org. The cost to attend is $40 for Chamber members, and $60 for non-members. Day of event registrations and walk-ins will be subject to a $10 surcharge.

Princeton Theological Seminary will host a two-day leadership and spirituality seminar entitled “Revealing God’s Greater Purpose.” The event is open to the public, and begins with registration at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, and concludes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 12. Mercer County Community College’s aviation faculty and flight instructors will take to the skies for “Community Flight Fairs” on Saturday, April 10 and Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., departing from the Trenton-Mercer Airport, Scotch Road, Ewing. The cost is 25 cents per pound of a rider’s weight (weights are kept confidential), with a minimum charge of $10 and a maximum of $25 per person. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. The 20-minute flight will give members of the community a panoramic view of the area. Proceeds will benefit Mercer County Community College’s Flight Team, which will compete in the National SAFECON competition in Terre Haute, Indiana this May.
