Estelle M. Dillon Tadlock Johnson, 91, died March 23 at the Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Center after a long battle with medical challenges.
Born in Trenton on May 29, 1919, she moved to Princeton in 1930 where she remained a resident until her death.
She was educated in the Trenton and Princeton school systems and was awarded her diploma from Princeton High School. She was an active member of the community as a former commissioner of the Housing Authority, Borough of Princeton; a trustee of Princeton Community Housing; a past president of the Hageman Houses Tenant Association, member of the Mercer County Registry and Election board for 30 years; the N.J. Election Committee, the Mercer County Democratic Central Committee; the National Council of Negro Women; and a member of Princeton-Trenton Zeta Amicae of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority for over 30 years.
A long-standing member of Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church, she was also an active member of the Rachel Conover Missionary Society. She was employed as an Instructional Aide with the Princeton Regional School System and retired after fifteen years from the John Witherspoon School. After retirement, she volunteered as a reader in the Summer Pre-Kindergarten Program and participated in the Grandparent/Grand Partner program.
Memorial Services were held on April 9 at Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church, 170 Witherspoon Street, Princeton. Interment followed at Princeton Cemetery.

Elisabeth H. Dahlen, 64, died March 29 at her home in Princeton.
Born on May 17, 1946, she was a California native and a long time resident of Princeton. She was an employee of Princeton University since 1987 where she was a senior administrator at Princeton University in the Office of Information Technology and the Treasurer’s Office.
A Graduate of the University of California, San Diego, she was awarded an MBA from New York University and later qualified as a CPA.
She traveled extensively and lived in England and France with her husband, Anthony F. Dahlen, Princeton Professor of Geosciences, who preceded her in death in 2007, and their son, Alex, who will complete his Ph.D. in Physics at Princeton University in May.
Besides her love of family and travel and her commitment to her professional work, she will be remembered with great affection by many friends for her extraordinary culinary skill, her gracious hospitality, and her enjoyment of bridge.
In addition to her son, she is survived by her mother, Bea Heller; and her aunt, Flora Young.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on June 3 at Princeton University Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Elisabeth and F. Anthony Dahlen, Jr. Fund, which will benefit graduate students in the Princeton Geosciences department. John Slaughter Murphy, 89, died April 11.
Born in Philadelphia on June 28, 1921, he moved to Princeton in 1961.
During World War II he was a First Lieutenant in the 15th Air Corp, 450th Bomb Group stationed in the Mediterranean Theater, serving as a bombardier on a B-24 Liberator. He flew 35 missions over the European Theatre; receiving the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf clusters and four battle stars for campaigns in the Rome-Arno, Battle of the Balkans, invasion of North Africa, and southern France.
He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business in 1948. He worked for Container Corporation of America in Philadelphia and New Brunswick in production management and in sales with Permaflex Corp.
The son of the late Francis and Mary Cowell Murphy, he was predeceased by his brother, Frank Murphy; and his sister, Jean Lemke. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean C. Murphy; his daughter, Susan Strempack; his son, Robert Murphy; two grandchildren; and three great granddaughters.
Graveside services will be held Monday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at All Saints Church, All Saints Road, Princeton. Donations in his memory may be made to All Saints Church, 16 All Saints Road, Princeton, N.J.; or the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, Inc., 257 North Harrison Street, Princeton, N.J. 08540.

Luther Donnell McKellar, 52, died April 2 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.
Born in Lumberton, N.C., he was educated in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School. He was a prior member of Princeton Baptist Church. A resident of Baltimore and Frederick, Md. for 16 years, he also served his country in the U.S. Army.
Preceded in death by one parent, Luther P. McKellar; one brother, Larry O. McKellar; his grandparents, Luther and Beatrice McKellar, and Johnnie B. McCrimmon; he is survived by his two children, Jessica McKellar and Luther E. McKellar; his mother, Patricia McKellar; three brothers, Kenneth McKellar, Keith McKellar, and Johnny McKellar; his grandmother, Lulu McCrimmon; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held on April 9 at Victory Baptist Church in Frederick, Md. The Rev. Jonathan L. Purks officiated.

Kathleen “Kate” Monahan, 71, of Princeton, died March 22 at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, N.J.
Born on July 25, 1939 in Philadelphia, to William and Mary Monahan, she grew up there before coming to Princeton in 1960.
She was employed at many places in Princeton, beginning with the McCarter Theatre, then Princeton Medical Center, Princeton University Biology Department, Princeton University Lecture Series, and the American Cancer Society before retiring from an administrative position at the Institute for Advanced Study.
Her enjoyment came from her life experiences of contra dancing, dinosaur digs in Montana, horseback riding, and cross country train trips. In her leisure time she was an avid reader.
She lived and raised her two children through a colorful combination of work and life experiences. Along with her warm smile, she will be remembered for her courageous 19-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Predeceased by her parents, William and Mary Monahan; she is survived by her former husband, John C. Scheneck III of West Winfield N.Y.; two children, Ellen and Matthew Scheneck; two grandchildren; a sister, Frances Mahoney; and a brother, Michael Monahan.
A memorial service will be held on April 16 at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Avenue, Princeton, at 3:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather and share remembrances from 2 to 4 p.m. that afternoon.
