This year’s Princeton Friday Dances for Special Teens Prom will be on May 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Suzanne Patterson Center. The fee is $8 and pre-registration by April 29 is required. The prom and all Friday dances are open to area special needs youth ages 12 to 21. Princeton residency is not necessary. Friday Dances are held monthly during the school year, usually on the second Friday of the month, and are co-sponsored by the Princeton Recreation Department and Princeton Special Sports. Blawenburg Reformed Church is hosting its annual community Rummage Sale for three days: Thursday, April 23 from 4 to 7 p.m.; Friday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, items that remain will sell for half price, or $3 per bag. Proceeds from the sale will be used for the BRC Preservation Fund to restore and renovate the church’s historic sanctuary in the village of Blawenburg, Montgomery Township. The Auxiliary of University Medical Center at Princeton is now accepting donated items that will be sold at its White Elephant, Art, Antiques, and Rummage Sale on September 26 at the Auxiliary’s storage facility at 905 Herrontown Road. Drop-offs will be accepted on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon through May 30; beginning on August 1, donations will also be accepted on Tuesday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m., in addition to the Tuesday and Saturday morning hours. Tax-deductible gently used items such as small furniture, art, linens, books, hardware, sporting goods, small electronics, bric-a-brac, clothes, kitchen, holiday, and toys may be donated. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the life-saving activities provided in the Emergency Department’s Trauma/Critical Care Room in the new hospital. The United Way of Greater Mercer County will join five other New Jersey United Ways on Saturday, April 25, to present Celebration of Womanhood, a free program for young women ages 11-17, at Kean University from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free bus transportation will be provided, leaving from United Way of Greater Mercer County, 3131 Princeton Pike Building 4. at 7:30 am, sharp. One adult chaperone is necessary for every six young women.
