(Asked at the Earth Day celebration at the Whole Earth Center.)

“Social awareness needs to be raised. So people start to do the things that make a difference. The social conscience of recycling, thinking about products and purchases. I remember when there wasn’t recycling and now it is an automatic.”

Eleanor Burnette, Princeton

Steven: “Energy and food production, the energy problem feeds so many other environmental problems that need to be solved. Food production takes a lot of energy and is related to the energy problem.” Ruth: “Pollution from gasoline and cars; people should start riding their bicycles more.”

“Hydraulic fracturing for natural gas is the most significant environmental issue today. I believe that we are going to be trading natural gas for water because they are injecting so many toxic chemicals into the earth to extract the gas.”

Audrey Braam, works in Princeton and lives in Bucks County, Pa.

Fabien: “Third world countries and the production of carbon; there is no way to regulate it.” Hector: “Trash. There are turtles that eat jellyfish and some-times they get confused and think a plastic bag is food. It can kill the turtles.”
