Helen M. Black, 96, of West Windsor, died July 22 at The Pavilions at Forrestal in Plainsboro.
Daughter of the late Istvan and Liona Zamba, she was predeceased by her husband, Constantino Black in 1982; five brothers; four sisters; a son, Robert B. Black; and a granddaughter. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra E. Duffy of West Windsor; a sister, Ethel Brockelbank of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and three step-grandchildren.
A 40-year resident of Princeton, Mrs. Black and her late husband operated Blackie's Taxi Service until retiring to Ellenton, Fla. in 1978. She returned to reside with her daughter in West Windsor in 1996. She was a former member of Princeton United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kimble Funeral Home.
Noreen E. Coutin of Princeton died July 29 at University Medical Center at Princeton, of lung cancer. She was surrounded by her three children, Pierre Coutin of London, England, Ann Coutin-Ortiz of Cherry Hill, and Mark Coutin of San Diego, Calif.; her partner, Dr. Mircea Popescu; and a group of lifelong friends.
A resident of Princeton for more than 40 years, she was an executive at a private foundation in Princeton where she managed an array of foundation projects, oversaw numerous real estate properties, and was responsible for the foundation's extensive art collection. She retired in 2006.
She was a lifelong supporter of the arts. Earlier in her career, she owned an art gallery in Princeton named Europa Gallery and often conducted private art exhibits in her home. A friend and supporter of McCarter Theater for more than 15 years, she served on the Associates Board where she chaired and co-chaired several committees.
She was an avid reader of great literature, an accomplished gardener, and a gourmet cook.
She is survived by her three children and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held today, August 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Avenue, Princeton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Noreen Coutin Fund to Advance Lung Cancer Research, PNC Bank, 72 Nassau Street, Princeton 08542. The fund is a private non-tax deductible fund administered by XEME Biopharma, Inc.
Robert Lee Horst, Jr., 57, of Plainsboro, died July 29 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, after a 40-year battle with kidney disease.
Born in Spokane, Wash., he spent most of his life in Stuttgart, Germany before moving to San Bernardino, Calif. in 1965. He had resided in the Plainsboro area since 1978.
He earned a B.S. in mathematics from the University of California Riverside and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wyoming. He was an environmental economist at Mathtech Inc., retiring as a vice president in 2002. He was also a consultant with the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. In 1978, he worked as a research assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
He was a member of the International Society of Ecological Economists, a member of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, a member of the Plainsboro Township Environmental Advisory Committee, and a member of the American Economic Association. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for Trans-Atlantic Renal Network and its Medical Review Board, and served on the Patient Advisory Committee for Trans-Atlantic Renal Network, which in the 1980s helped develop the Patient's Bill of Rights for Dialysis Patients. In 2006, he won the Ahmet Ahmet Award for contributions to the local Dialysis Community sponsored by the Trans-Atlantic Renal Network.
Son of the late Robert Lee and Josephine Geibel Horst, he is survived by his wife, Suzette Herndon Horst of Plainsboro; and a sister, Mary Trent of San Bernardino.
The funeral will be this Friday, August 3 at 8:30 a.m. at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, 214 Nassau Street.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Josephine A. Rousseau, 93, of Princeton, died July 27 at Princeton Care Center.
Born in New York City, she was a lifelong resident of Princeton.
She was employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone for 27 years.
An avid gardener, she was also a member of Pioneers of America and the Golden Agers of St. Paul's Church.
Daughter of the late Grace and Alfonso Robertiello and wife of the late Russell W. Rousseau, she was predeceased also by a sister, Grace Robertiello, and brother, Henry Robertiello, both of Princeton.
She is survived by a son, Russell J. Rousseau of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; a daughter, Celeste Rousseau of Charlotte, N.C.; her siblings Alfonso Robertiello of Kingston, N.J., Elizabeth Perna of Plainview, N.Y., and Felix Robertiello of Issaquah, Wash.; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated July 31 at Saint Paul's Church, Princeton. Entombment was in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton.
