Engagements

Blount-Smart. Lindsay Blount, daughter of Libby Hicks of Pennington and Barry Blount of Hopewell, to Will Smart, son of William Smart of Grass Valley, Calif. and Carol Studeny of Omak, Wash.

Ms. Blount is the granddaughter of Joan and Reeves Hicks of Skillman.

The couple resides in Cleveland, Tenn.

An October 2009 wedding is planned.

Walstad-Zablud. Kimberly Walstad, daughter of Michael Ann Walstad of Lawrenceville and Paul Walstad of New Hope, Pa., to Matthew Zablud, son of Sue Zablud of Melbourne, Australia and Peter Zablud of Melbourne.

Ms. Walstad graduated from Princeton High School in 1997, received a bachelor of arts degree from Carleton College in 2002, and a master’s in Library and Information Science from Rutgers University in 2006. She has pursued her interest in travel by studying and working abroad in Northern India, Tibet, Scotland, and Santiago, Chile, returning to the New York area in 2004 where she worked as an adult services librarian in the Branch System at New York Public Library. She is currently employed by Kadix Systems in Washington, D.C., a management consulting firm specializing in organizational change, program management, information systems, and eLearning.

Mr. Zablud graduated high school from Mount Scopus Memorial College in Melbourne, Australia in 1994 and completed his joint bachelor of arts/bachelor of law degrees at Monash University in 1999. After practicing law for two years, he worked as a campaign manager and political advisor before coming to the United States to undertake a master’s degree in political management at George Washington University. He is currently a partner at Adfero Group, a public affairs firm in Washington.

An April wedding in Washington is planned.
