Parking meters in the Central Business District are being “bagged” on Sundays in December to indicate free parking for shoppers, diners, and visitors. This Holiday Parking Promotion is being offered by The Princeton Merchants Association in coordination with the Borough. 

On Wednesday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m. the Princeton University’s Whig Senate Chamber will host a debate about boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The debate is cosponsored by J Street U, the Princeton Committee on Palestine, and Whig Clio, with funding from the USG Projects Board. Panelists include Max Blumenthal, journalist and author; Rebecca Vilkomerson, executive director of Jewish Voice for Peace; and Daniel May, director of J Street U. Vilkomerson and Blumenthal will take pro-BDS positions; May and a fourth speaker will oppose. The recent campus controversy surrounding PCP’s referendum on Sabra hummus offers an opportunity to discuss the movement in its broader context and hear from BDS’s most notable supporters and opponents. “Peace gifts,” including T-shirts and pins, are available for sale from the Coalition For Peace Action (CFPA). Gifts can be ordered at www.peacecoalition.org. To save shipping costs, stop by the CFPA office weekdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for pick-up.

The albums “A Princeton Christmas: For the Children of Africa” and “A Princeton Christmas For the Children of Africa, Vol. 2” by 11 Princeton-based choirs, are available at the Princeton University Store, the Barnes & Noble store at Princeton MarketFair, iTunes, and Amazon.com. All proceeds go to the United Nations World Food Program for its in-school nutrition programs. Proceeds have already provided more than 300,000 meals to hungry children in sub-Saharan Africa.
