Both Princeton Borough and Princeton Township municipal offices will be closed December 24 and December 25, and December 31, and January 1, 2008. In the event of an emergency, call the Princeton Borough Police Department at (609) 924-4141, or the Princeton Township Police Department at (609) 921-2100.

The Regional Plan Association New Jersey Committee has elected Tom Byrne, president of Princeton-based Byrne Asset Management, LLC, to serve as its newest member. Mr. Byrne, the son of former Gov. Brendan Byrne, joins other prominent New Jersey residents serving on RPA’s New Jersey Committee, including former Gov. James J. Florio, who currently serves as co-chair of the New Jersey Committee, and former New Jersey DEP Commissioner Christopher Daggett, who also serves as co-chair. Mr. Byrne’s term runs from December 2007 through the end of 2010. RPA is an independent, not-for-profit regional planning organization that covers a 31-county, New York-New Jersey-Connecticut region through research, planning, and advocacy. Its New Jersey office is based in downtown Princeton.

Princeton Regional Schools Board of Education will meet on January 8 in the Valley Road Administration Building to discuss the “Uniform State Memorandum of Agreement Between Education and Law Enforcement Officials.” The meeting will be closed to the public and no action will be taken. The next public meeting of the board is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, at 8 p.m. in the cafeteria at John Witherspoon Middle School.
