Engagements


Lauren Swiston and Dave Urbanek

Swiston-Urbanek. Lauren Swiston, daughter of Joan and Bud Swiston of Eldersburg, Md., to Dave Urbanek, son of Tim and Diane Urbanek of Princeton Junction.

The bride-to-be received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, and earned a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a project manager for the Maryland Energy Administration.

Mr. Urbanek is a graduate of WW-P South and University of Virginia. He is a traffic engineer for WBCM, a private consulting firm.

A May 2011 ceremony is planned.

Weddings


Thomas Sowanick and Eleni Athanatos

Athanatos-Sowanick. Eleni Athanatos, daughter of Blanca and Charalabos Athanatos, to Thomas Sowanick, son of the late John and Marie Sowanick. The couple was married on November 21 at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, Hamilton. The reception was held at Jasna Polana Country Club in Princeton.

The bride graduated from Rider University with a degree in Finance. She previously worked with offshore investors with Merrill Lynch in Dubai, Princeton, and New York. She is fluent in Greek, Spanish, and Arabic.

Mr. Sowanick graduated from American University in Washington DC with a degree in Economics. He is the former CIO of Merrill Lynch Private Client Group where he spent over 25 years in research, including head of global macro research responsible for economic research, equity and debt market strategies, currency and commodity research and technical analysis.

The couple works together at OmniVest Group LLC, a wealth management firm in Princeton.


Caryn Lee and Christopher Farnum

Lee-Farnum. Caryn Elizabeth Lee, daughter of William Wei-li Lee and Linda Eckert of Princeton, to Christopher Neil Farnum, son of Peter Farnum of Puyallup, Wash., and Lynn E. Longfield of Tacoma, Wash. The ceremony took place September 4, 2010 at the Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton. The Rev. Lynn Longfield, mother of the groom, performed the ceremony. The reception was held at Prospect House.

The bride graduated from Duke University and received a master’s degree in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a designer for Della Valle Bernheimer Architects in New York.

The groom graduated from the University of Rochester and received a master’s degree in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. He is an architect for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

The couple resides in Brooklyn.
