Berry, who spent the fall studying abroad in England and just returned to the Tiger program last month, got her first start of the season last Saturday against Penn. The junior guard made the most of the chance, scoring 12 points to help Princeton top the Quakers 69-57 in the Ivy opener for both teams. Princeton, now 4-13, is on exam break and won’t be in action again until it plays at Dartmouth on February 1 and at Harvard on February 2.

Jessica Berry was on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean this past October when the Princeton University women’s basketball team started preseason practice.

The junior, who had been the starting point guard for Princeton the past two seasons, was studying abroad in London after leaving the Tiger hoops program last spring.

Tiger Women’s Hockey Edges Brown 2-0 to Salvage a Weekend of Missed Chances

For much of last weekend, the Princeton University women’s hockey team was frustrated as it failed to cash in on one scoring opportunity after another.

Last Friday, Princeton outshot visiting Yale 43-26 only to lose 5-3 as the Bulldogs made their shots count.

A day later, the Tigers built a 25-8 edge in shots against Brown after two periods but went into the third period locked in a scoreless tie.

Young Providing Strong Inside Presence as PHS Boys’ Hoops Looks to Progress

Matt Young and his teammates on the Princeton High boys’ basketball team started last week on a major high.

With the PHS gym packed and rocking, the Little Tigers pulled away from local rival Princeton Day School 65-41 on January 7.

Senior forward and captain Young contributed eight points as PHS used a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

As a starting freshman guard for the Stuart Country Day basketball team, Amber Bowman is facing plenty of challenges in adjusting to the high school level.

“It’s more running; it’s more plays,” said Bowman. “I’m adjusting to it.”

With Fiori Providing Intensity and Heart, Hun Girls’ Hoops Back on Winning Track

In Cara Fiori’s first two years with the Hun School girls’ basketball program, the team suffered few defeats.

The Raiders went 20-7 two seasons ago and followed that up with a 23-5 mark last winter.

This season, Hun picked up where it left off the last two years, cruising to a 7-1 start.
