Princeton University has announced that its annual giving campaign raised $49 million this year, the highest in the University's history, with 58.5 percent of undergraduate alumni participating. The amount, which represents a 21 percent increase from the 2005-06 figure of $40 million, comes from a broad range of constituencies, including major reunion classes, non-major reunion classes, graduate alumni, and parents. Graduate alumni giving set a record for the fifth consecutive year with $1,481,416, 23 percent more than last year. Princeton parents gave $1,899,322. The campaign drew the largest number of undergraduate alumni donors ever, with 32,872 making gifts. The classes of 1925, 1928, and 1929 all reached 100 percent participation from their total of six surviving members. For more information, visit www.princeton.edu/main/news/.
The Princeton Community Democratic Organization (PCDO) will hold a public forum on Sunday, July 22, at 7:30 p.m., at the Suzanne Patterson Senior Center (behind Borough Hall at the intersection of Routes 206 and 27). Representatives from the Clinton, Obama, and Edwards campaigns will discuss their candidates and answer questions, including the following: What is there about the candidates that people should know that they don't know? What is it about your candidate that would enable them to work in a bipartisan way? How would they bring all the different constituents on board? Refreshments will be served. Princeton Regional Board of Education will hold a Personnel/Program Workshop on Wednesday, July 25, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Valley Road Administration Building. The purpose of the workshop, which is open to the public, is to discuss committee goals for the 2007-08 school year.
