Dan is known as a specialist in cutting curly hair. And is he ever! My hair has never looked better.
One of the many satisfied customers of the Daniel Rosati Salon is happy to share her opinion of Daniel Rosatis hair cutting expertise. He has a way of cutting that is perfect for curly hair, and he has just the right technique, she adds.
A licensed cosmetologist, Daniel has been in the hair salon industry for 25 years, and has worked closely with top stylists in New York, including the renowned Frederic Fekkai.
Now he works exclusively at his own salon for women at the Quakerbridge Shops at 3800 Quakerbridge Road in Lawrenceville. His clientele is primarily mature women who have curly hair.
Cowlicky and Curly
The majority of my clients have curly hair. I specialize in cowlicky, curly hair, and I have developed a special cutting technique I cut vertically to give hair movement. This is very important; you dont want hair to be static. Its aging. I like to leave hair somewhat longer, and then cut it vertically and create shorter layers, and yet at the same time giving it the illusion of a one length look.
Cutting curly hair is a creative challenge, he adds. Hair can be curlier in some spots than others, and everyone is different. Most women like easy maintenance today, and I came up with a technique for a cut that requires no maintenance; it can just air dry.
Also, because of the age range of his clients, their hair may be subject to special conditions. Daniel points out that after menopause, Hair can change; it can lose melanin and elasticity, and may be thinner. It might get less curly or more curly. Everyone is different, with different hair and different personalities and life-styles. This is what makes my work so interesting.
And, of course, you have to take the clients facial structure into consideration when you consider the cut.
Shorter Cuts
Daniel says that many women prefer shorter cuts today, and they often ask his advice about the most appropriate style. He is happy to consult with them, and enjoys conversation. I like to get to know them, and I love helping women look beautiful.
If a client looks better, she will feel better, he notes, and nothing gives him more pleasure than to see a happy customer leave with a smile on her face.
Most of Daniels clients forego color, preferring their own natural look, he says. For those who do want color though, we have a new all-natural color line, Inoa, and we are skilled in color.
The hair products are way better than before, he adds. We have a Moroccan oil conditioner that is great. We have all these products available for sale.
Loyal Customers
Daniels clients are from all over the area, including many from Princeton, and he continues to build new clientele, as well as keeping loyal customers of many years.
Five other stylists work at the salon, and walk-in customers are welcome. Daniel works by appointment only, however.
Prices include $55 for a regular hair cut, and Daniel is offering a special introductory cut for $30. I am so confident that people will want to come back, that I want to give them this special introductory rate.
Gift certificates are also available.
Clearly, Daniel is very enthusiastic about cutting hair, and he likes nothing better than to come to his salon in the morning and get to work.
I look forward to continuing to make these ladies look great, he says, with a smile. This is my life. I love my work!
The salon is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (609) 468-0070.
