With Grabowski Setting Example of Toughness, PU Women’s Squash Wins National Title Again

Carly Grabowski harbored plenty of doubts as she headed into her senior season with the Princeton University women’s squash team.

After her left knee swelled up like a grapefruit this past November, Grabowski, a Princeton resident and Lawrenceville School alum, was sidelined.

In addition to her individual issues, Grabowski wasn’t sure how the team would fare in the wake of the graduation of four players from the 2006-07 team which went undefeated and won the national title.

It looked like last Saturday was destined to be Meg Cowher’s night.

The Princeton University senior women’s basketball star was honored along with classmate Ali Prichard on Senior Night as the two played their last game at Jadwin Gym.

PHS Boys’ Hoops Falls in State Tournament but Ettin Sees Loss as Growing Experience

It was the opportunity that Skye Ettin and his teammates on the Princeton High boys’ basketball team had worked for all year.

With the PHS hoops program having not been in the state playoffs since 2001, the 13th-seeded Little Tigers were happy to get a shot at No. 4 Monmouth Regional last week in the NJSIAA Group III Central Jersey sectional.

PDS Boys’ Ice Hockey Runs Out of Gas as It Falls to HoVal in MCT Title Game

There were 15 minutes left in Clint O’Brien’s hockey career and the Princeton Day School senior forward was poised to end things with a bang.

With seventh-seeded PDS leading No. 4 Hopewell Valley 2-1 after two periods last Friday in the Mercer County Tournament (MCT) championship game, O’Brien liked where the Panthers stood.

“We were confident that we were the better team,” said O’Brien. “We thought we would come out with a win.”

Hun Boys’ Hockey Edged by PDS in MCT Sees Effort as Harbinger for Bright Future

Travis Potts was a picture of frustration when the Hun School boys’ hockey team lost to Princeton Day School this past December.

The junior goalie slammed his stick on the boards after PDS scored three goals in the second period on the way to a 3-0 triumph.

Last Wednesday, Potts and the Raiders were on their game as they got a rematch with the Panthers in the semifinals of the Mercer County Tournament (MCT).
