Celebrating Princeton High School’s Academic and Artistic Achievement

To the Editor:

Hats off to Princeton High School’s students and faculty for the school’s number one ranking in New Jersey on SAT scores. Granted that Princeton parents prize and support academic achievement, great credit goes to PHS teachers for their students’ accomplishments. Further plaudits are due for the highly successful tour of Spain by the PHS choir. In its SAT results and its distinguished music program, PHS shows an admirable commitment to both the academic and artistic development of its students.

Arts & Transit Neighborhood Plan Would Have Positive Local Impact

To the Editor:

As a member of the Mercer Hill Historic District Association (MHHDA), I strongly urge the Borough and the Township to move forward with concrete plans for implementing Princeton University’s proposed Arts & Transit Neighborhood. The Mercer Hill Historic District is adjacent to this proposed cultural center and we will feel the impact of the development first hand. The MHHDA has met, studied, and discussed the University’s plan and reconfiguration of the Dinky station, and has concluded that this project would have a positive impact on the district and on the Borough and Township.

The Arts & Transit Neighborhood will be a beautiful asset to the University and a lively center of creativity for the students. It will also be a gift to the community.

Developing Princeton Ridge Shows Disregard for Environmental Integrity

To the Editor:

Now is the time for Mr. Hillier to concede that he is unable to restrain his ambitions in regard to Princeton Ridge. A discourse on wastefulness has begun in this country and it is becoming clear that citizens for the environment are going to have to fight for it. There is a blatant lack of regard for what environmental integrity means. Those who come after us deserve nature in their lives. We should abandon our selfish behaviors now and continue to open the way to environmental restoration for our future generations.
