Town Talk

A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

“Are you looking forward to using the new Arts Council, and what do you think of the new building?”

“I’m sad that we have men and women fighting today. I am happy that we have veterans who have returned from this war and other wars in which they served, and they are safe and enjoying the freedoms that they protected. And I am grateful for those who are currently protecting our rights and for those who gave their lives for us, the ultimate sacrifice.”

Phyllis Marchand, Mayor, Princeton Township

“To honor those who have served our country so well. I am so grateful to be here, and I hope that the deep meaning of the dedication is not lost in the celebration.”

Mildred Trotman, Mayor, Princeton Borough

“I am thinking about everybody who defended our country in the past and currently. And I think about how wonderful it is that we live here, and that this is my favorite day of the year because we get to spend the day with our friends and family.”

Suki Wasserman with husband Matt, Princeton

“It’s very important to me. My husband’s son is in Iraq on his second tour. We should remember those soldiers who have fallen and who are serving. We have a wonderful country and we need to remember those who fought for it.”

Bonnie Knigge, Monmouth Junction with grandson, Peter, Princeton

“I am thankful for all the men and women who have served and wish for safety for those who are presently serving.”

Matt Wilkinson, with Henry and Eleanor, Princeton

“I am an incredibly lucky person to have the opportunities that I enjoy. There are many ways to be a patriot, and today we honor all of those ways.”

Tina Kahill, Parade MC, Princeton
