A forum for Princeton residents to express opinions about local and national issues

Question of the Week:

"What are your views on President Bush's choice to nominate Judge Samuel Alito Jr. to the Supreme Court?"

"He is just as qualified as Justice Roberts, regardless of what one may think of his political views. He has a subtle mind, and I think that he will consider the arguments on both sides. He has had a lot of experience doing that as a judge. He is a fine candidate."

Long Duong, Senior, Princeton University

"I think that he is very well qualified, and he has come a long way --- from being the child of Italian immigrants, to Princeton, to Yale Law School. I do not agree with his politics, he is way far to the right for my tastes --- as far as I can tell --- so, if I had a vote, I would vote, "no" on that basis."

Beth Healey, Moore Street

"I think that he is an excellent selection --- much better than the former one --- and I hope he joins the Count without too much difficulty."

Woody Ferris, Rosedale Road

"I do not have an opinion, yet, and will wait for the hearings to make up my mind."

Shira Banks, Alexander Road

"I like what his mother said about him. He is a native of New Jersey, he went to the public schools and then to Princeton, and I definitely think that he is a good choice for our country."

Jean Hunter, Grover Avenue
