Weddings

Stockwell-Persons. Katharine Ward Stockwell, daughter of Margaret G. and D. Hunt Stockwell, Jr. of Princeton, to Alexander Douglas Persons, the son of Florence D. and John Pat Persons of Vero Beach, Fla. and Norfolk, Conn., on November 15. The Rev. Dr. Alan Mermann officiated at The Church of Christ, Congregational in Norfolk. A reception followed at Gedney Farm, New Marlborough, Mass.

The bride is the director of alumni and parent programs at The Hotchkiss School, Lakeville, Conn. She was graduated from Princeton High School, cum laude from Harvard College, and received an MBA from the Yale University School of Management, where she is a member of the Alumni Association Board. Her mother is retired from the Princeton Public Library. Her father retired as Senior Vice President of Chemical Bank New Jersey.

The groom is the global information systems manager of the Farmington River Watershed Association in Simsbury, Conn. He is a graduate of Rocky Mountain Academy, Bonners Ferry, Ind., and the University of Oregon; and has a master=B9s degree in geography from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is a member of the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department. His father retired as a partner in the law firm of Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler in New York City.=20

The couple will take a wedding trip to Tasmania, Australia. They reside in Norfolk, Conn.

 


Lawson McNeil and Niran Wijesooriya

McNeil-Wijesooriya. Lawson Johnston McNeil, daughter of Thomas K. McNeil and Wendy Lawson-Johnston McNeil of Princeton, to Niran Romesh Wijesooriya, son of Aruna and Manilka Wijesooriya of Atlanta, Ga.

The bride's father is the managing partner of Mercer Capital LLC; her mother is a vice-president of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, founded by the bride=B9s great-great-grandfather.

The ceremony on September 20 at Edith Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceville, was followed by a reception at the McNeil home.

The bride, who will take the name of Wijesooriya, works in community redevelopment projects and is a public school substitute teacher and field hockey referee.

The groom is a fourth year medical student at The University of Virginia School of Medicine. The couple lives in Charlottesville, Va.

 


Nancy Jesser and Hugh Urban, Jr.

Jesser-Urban. Nancy S. Jesser, daughter of Richard and Sallie Jesser of Princeton, to Hugh B. Urban, Jr., son of Natalie Urban of State College, Pa., and the late Hugh Bayard Urban, Princeton University class of 1948.

The wedding took place on August 29 in Westmore, Vt. The bride graduated from Princeton High School and received a B.A. from Barnard College and a Ph.D. in American literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The groom received a B.A. from George Washington University and a Ph.D. in the history of religions from the University of Chicago.

Residents of Columbus, Ohio, the bride and groom both teach in the Department of Comparative Studies at Ohio State University.

 


Kelly Cooke and Lewis Reece

Cooke-Reece. Kelly Cooke, daughter of Pat and Wayne Cooke of Princeton, to Lewis Reece, son of Barry Reece and stepson of Andrea Reece, of Chipping Sodbury, England. The civil marriage ceremony took place on September 13 in England.

A religious ceremony is planned for May, 2004, in the Princeton area.

The bride is a graduate of Georgetown University. She recently completed studies at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, China.

The groom graduated from Plymouth University in England. He is a management accountant with Lloyds TSB in London.

The couple resides in London, England
