Princeton HealthCare System President and CEO Barry S. Rabner has been selected as the Leader of the Year by the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce. He was recognized for “his vision and hard work toward the creation of a new state-of-the-art hospital and healthcare campus for the region, as well as his leadership in fostering clinical and organizational excellence throughout Princeton HealthCare System.” During the five years in which Rabner has served as PHCS President and CEO, he reached out to members of the community, area leaders, physicians, staff and others as part of a comprehensive strategic planning process that resulted in community support for the organization. The annual award, sponsored by Tyco International, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to Princeton-area communities. It will be presented at the chamber’s Annual Business Leadership Awards Gala on Wednesday, November 28, at the Tournament Players Club at Jasna Polana in Princeton.

PHS alumnus Steven J. Rubel has graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English from Columbia University. While at Columbia, he was a DJ, hosting an Old Time Country Music Show at WKCR 89.9 FM.

Princeton resident Devon Delaney is among ten semi-finalists in the Philadelphia Regional 2nd Annual Simply Manischewitz Kosher Cook-Off. Ms. Delaney will participate in the live cooking competition on Thursday, November 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hilton Doubletree, 237 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, where she will demonstrate her winning recipe, “Roasted Sesame Chicken Dippers.” Recipes are judged on taste, ease of preparation, appearance, and originality. “This competition gives me the chance to show off my cooking skills while incorporating great ethnic ingredients,” said Ms. Delaney, who is competing for a chance to take part in the finals for a $25,000 grand prize package including a GE Profile kitchen, cash, and other items. Jesse Meadow, a 2004 graduate of Princeton High School and the daughter of David Meadow and Lisa Mirin of Princeton, is serving as a volunteer community service representative for the Office of Volunteers for Community Service (OVCS) at Connecticut College. Ms. Meadow is a senior at the college, where OVCS plays a key role in teaching students about community engagement and the best practices of participation. She is helping to plan campus wide initiatives and community service projects such as Adopt A Family, Santa Boot Project, clothing and food drives, clean ups, Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration event, and fundraising walks.
